Brand: Cascina del Colle
Origin: Italy
Grape: Montepulciano
Taste Note: A classic expression of Montepulciano from Abruzzo, this wine reveals ripe black cherry and plum aromas, supported by delicate floral nuances and a touch of spice. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, well-integrated tannins, offering a smooth and generous mouthfeel. Fresh and balanced, it delivers a clean, fruit-driven finish, ideal for everyday enjoyment.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are cultivated under organic practices and harvested from vineyards in Villamagna. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with a controlled-temperature fermentation and maceration on skins for 12–20 days, allowing optimal extraction of color and structure. The wine is then aged for approximately 4 months in stainless steel to preserve freshness and varietal purity.
Sommelier Advice: Serve at 18–20°C. No decanting required, though brief aeration enhances fruit expression. Ideal with grilled meats, pasta with tomato-based sauces, cured meats, and semi-aged cheeses. Best consumed within 3–5 years to enjoy its vibrant fruit character.
