Description

Brand: Stephane Ogier
Origin: France
Grape: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre
Taste Note: Full-bodied and filled with cherry fruit, barely contained by supple tannins on the lingering finish, flavors of kirsch, fresh black or white cherries, jammy strawberries, black raspberries, spice, black pepper, cherry griotte, plums, and fresh herbs.
Winemaking Process: Small production, only 7 ha. Old vines and low yield. Hand harvest and berries selection. Maturing 10 months in concrete vat. Good aging potential: 5 to 8 years.
Sommelier Advice: Grenache works well with a diverse array of food. Grenache pairs perfectly with grilled, stewed, and braised meats like beef, veal, pork, chicken, and of course game. Grenache holds up well to hearty dishes like cassoulet and it’s a good match for less spicy styles of Asian cooking
